Consumers Should Perform Annual Computer Maintenance!!!

Just as consumers perform regular maintenance on their cars, preventative maintenance for digital devices helps avoid costlier problems in the future. For many consumers managing their computer and digital devices can be time consuming and confusing. In a recent survey, consumers are not regularly checking, backing-up and updating their digital devices, despite the fact that doing so helps to keep systems running and secure. Less than 25 percent of consumers regularly update their security software and only 35 percent back up their data at least once a month.

HiWired diagnostics also indicated that 15 percent of consumers have less than 10 percent of available disk space remaining on their PC, which can cause a slow PC and other performance problems. Regular maintenance can help address these problems.
