Computer Memory How Far it Has Come

I have been using computer since the commodore 64 (see blog below) and the expansion of computer memory has just blown my mind.

I remember in just 1998 when a 10 gig hard drive was hundreds of dollars and my old roommate and I thought using all that memory would be impossible. Now, computers are coming with 40-100 gigs of memory and laptops have more memory than my old desktop.

I recently purchased an 80-gig external hard to manage my music and videos. With the current rate of memory expansion technology the future of memory will be more and more for cheaper and cheaper. And the software industry is following right behind by writing programs with increased memory requirements.
